As I join Pacific Opera as an Associate Artist for 2019 - one of my first engagements with them is A Viennese Gala with the Willoughby Symphony in The Concourse. Tickets and more details are available here.
Saturday 23 February, 7:00pm
Sunday 24 February, 2:00pm
Start the year off with a dazzling musical celebration with the Willoughby Symphony’s perennial favourite, our annual GALA season opener. Chief conductor and artistic director Dr Nicholas Milton AM has conducted dozens of performances in the Austrian capital’s most iconic opera house, so he is superbly qualified to take you on a unique musical excursion of Vienna. You will bathe in sumptuous melody and dance in delight (from the safety of your seat) as we perform waltzes, polkas and quadrilles by Johann Strauss, the original Waltz King, including his unforgettable Blue Danube Waltz. Phenomenal singers from Sydney’s Pacific Opera will present selections from that singularly Viennese operetta, Die Fledermaus, as well as excerpts from operas by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and so much more!
