Later this year I will be joining the wonderful and deeply collaborative Van Diemen's Band across two weekends in Lutruwita/Tasmania as part of both the Tasmanian Chamber Music Festival and VDB’s own concert activity.
We will be presenting concerts (across two programs) in Launceston, Richmond, Franklin, and Hobart.
The first features a collection of early Baroque instrumental and vocal music by north German composers of the generation before JS Bach.
The second - the festival finale - turns back four centuries for music for six solo voices, chorus and renaissance orchestra featuring extracts from Symphoniae Sacrae of Schütz and Gabrieli, the Selva Morale et Spirituale by Monteverdi and works by Cavalli, Weckmann and Schop. This program will feature the solo voices of some dear friends from Sydney: Michelle Ryan, Amy Moore, Hannah Fraser, Eric Peterson, and Louis Hurley; and Thomas Wilson and the Choir of St James, King Street.
