Andrew’s educational experience includes years of studio teaching, hundreds of schools performances and workshops, specialist vocal tutoring, and guest conducting. He currently teaches at Sydney Grammar School and formerly at St Aloysius College, Kirribilli and where he also assisted with the College Choir. He is a mentor and occasional teacher as part of the Choir of St Mary’s Cathedral Sydney, in particular with the Scholars program. He has held previous vocal teaching positions at Christ Church Grammar School & John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School.
Since 2015 I have been involved in the Moorambilla Voices program which engages with thousands of school-age children every year in Regional NSW via skills workshops. Approximately 350+ students are then invited to intensive residential camps in Baradine across the year culminating in unique gala performances in Dubbo.
The multi-discipline performances include singing, dance, taiko, and multimedia — each year commissioning Australian composers to create a unique show that connects to land, culture, and country.
The Perth Choral Institute’s objective is to provide first class education to singers in a variety of styles. Through doing this, PCI aims to forge links between all major vocal ensembles and educational institutions within the State of Western Australia.
Since their inaugural residential camp in 2017 I have been a specialist vocal tutor at the program.
Gondwana Choirs is the largest choral organisation in Australia and provides opportunities for many young singers both in Sydney (within the various choirs of the Sydney Children’s Choirs) and nationally — including Gondwana Chorale, Gondwana Voices, Gondwana Indigenous Children’s Choir, and Marliya.
In recent years I have been a Guest Conductor of the SCC Young Men’s Choir, Presenter of a Gondwana Online Course for changing voices, and on the audition panel for National Choral School.
