The Choir of St James’ and Australian Baroque Brass serve up a sumptuous and exhilarating celebration of Christmas with music by Praetorius and other German Renaissance composers. Interspersed with Gregorian chant, this setting of the mass is a splendid synthesis of different musical forms, cleverly incorporating liturgical and secular elements framed by a Christmas motif.
