After its premiere at the Aldeburgh Festival (UK) I’m really over the moon to be returning to London to present the ‘staged’ version of Chronicle 时•录 at LSO St Luke’s with SANSARA in association with TANGRAM. I think it is a very powerful and moving project, that gives voice to ancient Chinese Women Poets, and presents their words (in translation) at a time where we need voices like theirs to be heard more than ever. Despite the air miles involved, I would gladly travel again and again to see this project continue to travel.

We’re collaborating with artist collective Tangram to present our first large scale co-commission from composers Alex Ho and Rockey Sun Keting.
Chronicle 时•录 is an interdiscplinary choral-theatre work, tracing the voices of six women poets across a millennium of Chinese history.
Through war, exile, love, loss and displacement, their poems record not only personal emotion, but the fragile continuity of culture, memory and survival.
